Lisa's Meditation Experience
Lisa has studied and applied western and eastern psychologies for decades. She has found the practices of mindfulness, meditation and yoga very helpful in the journey of healing and self-discovery.
Lisa has studied Buddhism and practiced meditation for over 40 years and has taught mindfulness meditation for the last 20 years. She has taught mindfulness to clients, patients in inpatient addition treatment centers, and other therapists. She is now expanding her teaching to anyone interested in well being and liberation.
Lisa has studied and attended numerous retreats and talks with world renowned teachers including her primary teacher, Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, known by his students as Thay. She is currently in a 2 year mindful meditation teacher training with Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield and other teachers in the Insight/Vipassana tradition.
Lisa has attended classes, talks, retreats and workshops with many teachers from multiple Buddhist traditions, including H.H. the Dalai Lama, Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, Pema Chodron, Susan Piver, Loch Kelly, Ben Connelly, Cheri Huber, Stephen Levine, Sharon Salzberg, Thanissara, Kittisaro, Christina Feldman, Jaya Ruudgard, Gil Fronsdal, Marjolein Janssen, Tanya Wiser, Eugene Cash, Erin Treat, Vinny Ferraro and others. Lisa took refuge vows in 1999 on retreat with Thich Nhat Hahn when she received the dharma name Profound Calling of the Heart from him. She was fortunate to be able to attend four residential retreats with Thay.
